Help and contact

Pip says hello. Email us and a real person will reply.

Please don't include your child's surname or other personal details we don't need. If it's about a chat, tell us the date and your child's first name.

Setting up

How do I set up my child's device?

Install Kidwio on the device your child uses and sign in with your grown-up account. Pick which child uses it. From then on, the app opens straight onto that child's board. If brothers and sisters share a device, it shows a profile picker first.

How do I get to the grown-up corner?

Open the grown-up corner from your child's board, then confirm it's you with your parent PIN, Face ID or Touch ID. You can also sign in on your own iPhone, iPad or Mac and use just the grown-up corner there.

Children's privacy laws require us to get a parent's or guardian's permission before a child uses Kidwio. An independent service checks this once, when you sign up. Read more in our privacy policy.

Can another parent see the chats too?

Yes. Invite them from your grown-up corner. They get the same chats, wellbeing view and alerts.

How do I change my child's age or buddy?

In your grown-up corner, open your child's profile. Answers and boards adjust to the new age straight away. Your child can also switch buddies whenever they like.

Subscriptions

Subscriptions are sold through the App Store. During the beta, purchases are simulated, so nothing is charged. App Store subscriptions come with the App Store release.

I bought a plan but it isn't showing

Open your grown-up corner and restore your purchases. Make sure you're signed in to the App Store with the Apple ID that bought the plan.

How do I cancel?

On iPhone or iPad, open Settings, tap your name, then Subscriptions, then Kidwio. On a Mac, open the App Store, click your name, then Account Settings and Manage Subscriptions. You keep your plan until the end of the period you've paid for. Deleting your Kidwio account doesn't cancel an App Store subscription, so cancel it here first.

How do I get a refund?

Apple handles payments and refunds. Request one at reportaproblem.apple.com.

My child sees "Ask your grown-up to unlock more!"

Your family's free chats or whiteboards have run out. Your child never sees prices. You can choose a plan from your grown-up corner. See pricing.

Your child's data

How do I export my child's chats?

In your grown-up corner, open your child's profile and choose to export their data. You get a file with their chats and boards.

How do I delete my child's data or my account?

In your grown-up corner, you can delete a single chat, a child's profile or your whole account. If you can't get into the app, email us from the address on your account and we'll help.

An email link didn't open the app

Links in our emails open Kidwio if it's installed on that device. If you're on a computer or a device without Kidwio, open the app on your iPhone, iPad or Mac instead.

Safety

Something in a chat worries me

Email support@kidwio.com with "Safety" in the subject, the date of the chat and your child's first name. We look at every safety report. Read how safety works.

A child is in danger right now

Call your local emergency number: 911 in the US, 999 in the UK, or 15 or 1122 in Pakistan. Kidwio is not an emergency service. The helplines our buddies show are listed on our safety page.

Can my child talk to the buddy?

Not yet. The buddy speaks its answers out loud, but the microphone is switched off at launch, so your child types or taps.

Where Kidwio works

Kidwio will be on iPhone, iPad and Mac, in English, launching in the United States, the United Kingdom and Pakistan.
