Subscriptions are sold through the App Store and billed to your Apple ID. During the beta, purchases are simulated, so nothing is charged. App Store subscriptions come with the App Store release. In the UK and Pakistan, Apple sets the local price and shows it before you buy. Subscriptions renew automatically until you cancel in your Apple ID settings.

Always free, paid or not

  • Safety help. If your child is worried or upset, they get kind words and helplines straight away, even with no free chats left.
  • Everything in your grown-up corner: chats, the wellbeing view, alerts and summaries keep working if you never subscribe or later cancel.
  • Exporting or deleting your child's data.

Questions

What counts as a chat?

A chat is one conversation with the buddy. On the free allowance it holds up to 10 messages from your child. On a plan, chats have no cap.

What happens when the free chats run out?

Your child sees their buddy saying "Ask your grown-up to unlock more!" and nothing else: no price, no button to buy. You choose a plan from your grown-up corner, behind your PIN or Face ID.

What if the free whiteboards run out first?

The buddy keeps answering in chat, and says it would love to draw it once a grown-up unlocks more.

Does reinstalling the app reset the free allowance?

No. The allowance belongs to your family and your device, so new child profiles or a reinstall don't add more.

Does one subscription cover all our devices?

Yes. Your plan belongs to your Kidwio family account, so it works on every iPhone, iPad and Mac signed in to your family, including a second guardian's. On a new device, you can restore the purchase from your grown-up corner.

What if we add another child?

If your plan is full, the app asks you to move up to the next plan. The change goes through the App Store, and Apple adjusts what you pay.

How do I cancel?

Open Settings on your iPhone or iPad, tap your name, then Subscriptions, then Kidwio. On a Mac, open the App Store, click your name, then Account Settings and Manage Subscriptions. You keep your plan until the end of the period you've paid for. Refunds are handled by Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com.

Where is Kidwio available?

At launch, in the United States, the United Kingdom and Pakistan, in English.
